Video Part 2: Highlights from our 9/15/12 Séance…

It is finally time to reveal the highlights of our two and a half hour September 15, 2012  séance. I’d like to thank Marilyn Painter at Ahtah Sanctuary Holistic Center in St. Peters, Missouri for sharing her time and talents with us for this project.

If you haven’t been following along, here is some of the previously shared information. Marilyn beautifully announced our intention that evening with the following words.

”We set our intention tonight to bring forth those from the past who have an interest in bringing forth evidence to this physical world that spirit exists – that we as human beings, divine human beings are able to make connections and to communicate with those in spirit. Our intention tonight is also to bring forth, without a shadow of a doubt, evidence and proof that we are divine beings of light.”

Our invited spirit pioneers included Sarah Estep, Thomas Alva Edison, Helen Duncan, Konstantin Raudive, and Eileen Garrett.

Some details regarding the “experiment” part of our séance…

Throughout the two and a half hour séance, I documented changes in EMF (electromagnetic field) and temperature. Also, along with recording the evening with multiple video cameras, I had two digital audio recorders in the room. My intention was to hopefully capture some EVP (electronic voice phenomena) as well.

It is important to note that there were absolutely no EMF readings during the séance. I spent a lot of time charting temperature changes in the room and it seemed to rise and fall predictably and gradually as the air conditioning in the room turned on and off. I do not feel like any of the temperature changes were out of the ordinary or “paranormal”.  And, although I have a few artifacts of what could possibly be spirit voices captured on audio, I am not comfortable with making any claims about them or sharing them with the public. At least not now.

Here is the Part 1 video…

…with an introduction and information on how we prepared for the evening. This was shared previously.

And here is Part 2…

I welcome your thoughts and comments. Please enjoy!

If you enjoyed following this séance, stay tuned for information on the séance we had on Saturday, September 29, 2012.

Peace!

Communicating with Great Pioneers through Séance…

On Saturday September 15th, Marilyn and I, along with two other sitters, held our first of two séances for this fall. A more detailed report and a video of the evening will be coming soon. But for now, are you interested in a preview?

Our Intention for the Evening…

Marilyn beautifully announced our intention that evening with the following words.

“We set our intention tonight to bring forth those from the past who have an interest in bringing forth evidence to this physical world that spirit exists – that we as human beings, divine human beings are able to make connections and to communicate with those in spirit. Our intention tonight is also to bring forth, without a shadow of a doubt, evidence and proof that we are divine beings of light.”

Our Invited Spirits…

Sarah Estep

Sarah Estep in her home, where she did much of her research. Photo from Rosemary Ellen Guiley’s www.visionaryliving.com
(This is the photo that was used during the séance.)

During the séance, I asked Sarah the following question. “Sarah, your book, Voices of Eternity, has inspired me and many others. I think all of us here are probably very anxious to find the answers to some of the same questions that you were asking of the other side before you crossed over. Can you share some of what you’ve learned since crossing over?”

Thomas Alva Edison

The inventor, Thomas Alva Edison.
(This is the photo that was used during the séance.)

During the séance, I asked Thomas the following question. “Just before crossing over, you mentioned to your physician ‘It is very beautiful over there’. Can you describe what you were seeing and what we should expect to see when we cross over?”

Helen Duncan

Medium, Helen Duncan.
(This is the photo that was used during the séance.)

With her experiences with physical mediumship, Helen was asked if there was some kind of physical phenomena that she could produce for us.

Konstantin Raudive

Parapsychologist and EVP researcher, Konstantin Raudive.
(This is the photo that was used during the séance.)

Konstantin greeted us with so much information that we didn’t even get to a specific question for him.

Eileen Garrett

Medium and parapsychologist, Eileen Garrett.
(This is the photo that was used during the séance.)

During the séance, I asked Eileen the following question. “As a medium, you were involved with a lot of scientific experiments. Your health was reportedly affected by many of your trance sessions. Can you tell us anything you learned about the well-being of people on earth working in the paranormal or spiritual fields? Are there safety concerns?”

Thomas Edison and the phonograph…

Thomas Edison and his phonograph

Though he was working on it in 1877 and filed for a patent a few months earlier, it was on this date (February 19th) in 1878 that Thomas Alva Edison received the patent for his newest invention, the phonograph. He was also one of the independent inventors to invent the first microphone during this same time period.  All of this happened one year before he created the light bulb.

“The phonograph was developed as a result of Thomas Edison’s work on two other inventions, the telegraph and the telephone. In 1877, Edison was working on a machine that would transcribe telegraphic messages through indentations on paper tape, which could later be sent over the telegraph repeatedly. This development led Edison to speculate that a telephone message could also be recorded in a similar fashion. He experimented with a diaphragm which had an embossing point and was held against rapidly-moving paraffin paper. The speaking vibrations made indentations in the paper. Edison later changed the paper to a metal cylinder with tin foil wrapped around it. The machine had two diaphragm-and-needle units, one for recording, and one for playback. When one would speak into a mouthpiece, the sound vibrations would be indented onto the cylinder by the recording needle in a vertical (or hill and dale) groove pattern. Edison gave a sketch of the machine to his mechanic, John Kruesi, to build, which Kruesi supposedly did within 30 hours. Edison immediately tested the machine by speaking the nursery rhyme into the mouthpiece, ‘Mary had a little lamb.’ To his amazement, the machine played his words back to him.” http://memory.loc.gov/ammem/edhtml/edcyldr.html

What did Thomas Edison foresee the phonograph being used for?

  1. Letter writing and all kinds of dictation without the aid of a stenographer.
  2. Phonographic books, which will speak to blind people without effort on their part.
  3. The teaching of elocution.
  4. Reproduction of music.
  5. The “Family Record”–a registry of sayings, reminiscences, etc., by members of a family in their own voices, and of the last words of dying persons.
  6. Music-boxes and toys.
  7. Clocks that should announce in articulate speech the time for going home, going to meals, etc.
  8. The preservation of languages by exact reproduction of the manner of pronouncing.
  9. Educational purposes; such as preserving the explanantions made by a teacher, so that the pupil can refer to them at any moment, and spelling or other lessons placed upon the phonograph for convenience in committing to memory.
  10. Connection with the telephone, so as to make that instrument an auxiliary in the transmission of permanent and invaluable records, instead of being the recipient of momentary and fleeting communication.

For those of us involved in this paranormal “field”, I wonder where we’d be if it weren’t for Edison or his inventions? And I wonder if Edison had any idea that his inventions would be so important in the future of Electronic Voice Phenomena and spirit communication in general? Edison had an interest in spirit communication and it is widely believed that before his death he was working on a type of telephone to the dead and other tools that would have been a great help to this field. And who knows? Maybe we’re using new inventions from Edison today? Many mediums and researchers claim to have made contact with him over the years. Maybe he has passed all of this expertise onto mortal inventors, scientists, and inventors?

Would you like to listen to some Edison sound recordings?

In the first link below you can listen to some of the very first recordings, including the Mary Had a Little Lamb recording by Edison that is mentioned above.
