How will you communicate from the Afterlife? I want to know.

I’m working on a podcast episode where we’ll discuss how the living can plan for how they will communicate to loved ones from the Afterlife/Other Side. I’d love to get some ideas, include your thoughts, or even your Voice Feedback in the episode.

So here’s an example:

Anyone who knows me knows that I’ll be trying ANYTHING to get your attention, but for my loved ones specifically, I’ll be focusing around the area of your nightstand. I’ll be moving things around, making it obvious that something is different. I’ll be switching the lights on and off. I’ll turn your picture frame upside down. That kind of thing. But know that I’ll also be trying to speak, leave EVP, and flutter my fingers around your face to make you feel like you just walked through a cobweb. You’re welcome.

How will you communicate from the Afterlife/Other Side?Times are changing!

Will your contact involve a communication device, like a phone? E-mail? Text message? Skype? Times are changing, and so is the communication that comes across from spirits!

Some techniques will always be around though. For example, I’m still waiting to get my butt pinched from my Great Grandma. She managed to get my mom a few years back.

Love Never Dies: A Big Séance Book Giveaway!

This weekend I finished the third and final book from Andrea Perron’s House of Darkness House of Light trilogy, which very thoroughly documents the very real events that inspired the movie The Conjuring. (More on this soon!) So today, with perfect timing, Dr. Jamie Turndorf’s Love Never Dies: How to Reconnect and Make Peace with the Deceased arrived on my doorstep, and I just got started.

I am excited to announce that the publisher and author have offered to donate one book for a free Big Séance giveaway! See below for more details.

Here’s more on Love Never Dies:

Love-Never-Dies-jamie-turndorf-big-seanceFamed relationship therapist, author and media personality Dr. Jamie Turndorf —known worldwide as Dr. Love— shares the amazing true story of her spiritual reconnection with her beloved deceased husband, internationally renowned former Jesuit priest Emile Jean Pin. Discovering for herself that relationships don’t end in death, Jamie recounts her remarkable experience where, through the depths of her grief after Jean’s sudden passing, her husband made known his continued presence–and undying love.

Drawing on these personal encounters, Jamie has created a groundbreaking new form of grief therapy that combines her acclaimed conflict-resolution techniques with after-death communication. The result: an unprecedented method that enables the bereaved to reconnect, resolve unfinished business, and make peace with the deceased. Filled with dozens of examples of spirit contact and communication, this book eliminates any doubt about life after death and shows that contact is ongoing. Loved ones in spirit don’t just linger briefly before going to “heaven” and disappearing from your life. Rather, heaven is a state, not a place, and your loved ones have an eternity to support you and heal any issues left behind when they passed on.

Come to recognize the numerous signs from spirit that you may have been missing. Learn to trust yourself and the process that’s right for you–not a shortened, artificial grief period prescribed by conventional doctors. Practice techniques for heightening your senses, expanding your awareness, and entering an open state, culminating in Jamie’s method for Dialoguing with the Departed.

When connection and love live on, fear is banished and relationships can grow and heal as never before. Begin opening your mind and your heart today!

Who opened that door?! Nothing is not the opposite of everything.

It has been way too long since I last wrote to you. A lot of things, some exciting, have been going on lately in my personal and work life. And because of all of the craziness, I’ve not been able to tell you about some very interesting activity that I experienced a couple of weeks ago. It left me scratching my head… and I loved every minute of it.

I had been working on putting together the recent Learn How to Record EVP: The Session episode of the Big Séance Podcast. I worked on it quite a bit for several days. Some weird things eventually began happening over those couple of days, including me and the dog hearing some out of the ordinary knocks and noises, the dog acting stranger than usual, an incident involving lights in the basement, and finishing off with the following incredible moment:

I have a cabinet in the room where I’m sitting right now. It’s a cabinet that means a lot to me because it was built for my Grandma Keller by my father when he was in high school. It’s basically a bookshelf with two wood-framed doors that have glass so that you can see the contents of the shelf. It also happens to be where I keep several of my spirit communication tools, meters, digital audio recorders, spirit boxes, etc. If you’re familiar with my old yearbook collection from the 1920s, those are in this cabinet as well. I believe I was editing the show notes for the EVP episode when I heard a door of the cabinet pop open. I turned my head just in time to see the dog run away out of fear, and the left door coming to a stop from being swung open.

I want you to know that I’m kicking myself for not immediately jumping into an EVP session right there. I did, however, attempt communication, asked if they were visiting to help with my EVP efforts, and made a request for a few other signs to confirm a presence. I got none.

If you know me, you know I’d never jump to the conclusion that this was paranormal… however, I know my dog didn’t and couldn’t have opened this door. Is it possible that it wasn’t securely latched and somehow snapped open? Absolutely, though I’ve never once witnessed it.

Before everyone comments that I need to have my home blessed due to evil entities, or a poltergeist, slow waaaaaay down. I had just had an EVP session an hour or two earlier. My spirit communication experiments involve requesting and inviting the presence of spirits and loved ones from the other side. That’s what I do. I don’t go running from them or shooing them away when they show up. Part of me wonders if someone was just late to the party and they wanted me to know that they were there. The cabinet that was opened housed spirit communication devices. Was that a sign? Possibly. And what about the strange activity that happened in the days just before this event? The same spirit or energy? My (and the dog’s) imagination? A really early arrival for the EVP session?

And now for the part that will frustrate many of you. I haven’t analyzed this EVP session yet.

No unusual activity since then.

To be continued…

Tonight I leave you with some very poetic words that I came across at about the same time of this experience. Poetry doesn’t resonate with me often, but this really stuck with me.

Nothing is not the opposite of everything.
Dark is not the opposite of light.
Good is not the opposite of bad.
They are all the same coin,
the head is inseparable from the tail.
Yin is entirely dependent on Yang to exist.
All opposites arise and fall away together.
So, running away also running toward.
Silence is sound, stillness is movement.
Nothing is everything.

Being Able To Read In Your Dreams…

I don’t remember my dreams often. When I do it is usually either on the weekends when I’m able to sleep longer, or those rough nights where you only get in a few hours of sleep before having to be up again. But recently I’ve noticed a change in these dreams. It seems that I’m remembering more details, specifically reading things, signs, words, phrases, names of people, etc. One of the first times I noticed this (and in my dream I was very excited about it) I was walking down a street and noticed a storefront awning that was the deepest and prettiest shade of blue. The awning stood out to me and it was clear that I was meant to see it. It displayed the word “VELVET” in large print. I think I instantly woke myself up I was so excited. I have absolutely no idea what “velvet” is supposed to mean for me right now.

In the last week I’ve had two “reading in my dreams” experiences that stand out. The specific details of the first dream are really irrelevant and random, but I observed three or four names (signatures, really) of old classmates from high school. One of these names is not a name that I would have any reason to dream about, and I haven’t thought about this person since my time in those halls.  I didn’t even know him well. The other few names were acquaintances whom I knew well in those days. I woke up remembering the names and specifically what their signatures looked like.

And perhaps one of my cooler dream experiences was just a few nights ago and involved a friend and co-worker’s husband who passed several years ago. In my dream I was at the friend’s house working on some kind of project for work. After working on it late into the night I ended up crashing there. When I woke up I found that my friend’s husband (who appeared to be alive in this part of the dream) had left me sketches and notes in the margins of a packet of information that we were working on. He was apparently trying to help us out. It is unclear what the sketches were for and why, but I was able to draw the sketches from memory for my friend yesterday. What makes the details of this dream more important is the fact that before I woke up, he was right in front of me with the warmest light all around him. At this moment it was clear to me that his spirit was right in front of me and I realized that this was not a part of the earlier dream. He smiled at me without saying a word. I told him that he was loved and asked if there were any messages I should pass along. Once again, I really do think that at that point I was so moved and impressed with what was happening that I woke myself up. I never got any messages after asking.

Is it normal to read things and be able to sketch things from memory in dreams? And why have I noticed such a change in details lately? Several months ago I read and posted about the “Hue” technique for remembering your dreams, but I only tried it a few times and haven’t thought much about it since then. What does this all mean?

Feel free to share your own expertise or experiences.
