Love Never Dies: A Big Séance Book Giveaway!

This weekend I finished the third and final book from Andrea Perron’s House of Darkness House of Light trilogy, which very thoroughly documents the very real events that inspired the movie The Conjuring. (More on this soon!) So today, with perfect timing, Dr. Jamie Turndorf’s Love Never Dies: How to Reconnect and Make Peace with the Deceased arrived on my doorstep, and I just got started.

I am excited to announce that the publisher and author have offered to donate one book for a free Big Séance giveaway! See below for more details.

Here’s more on Love Never Dies:

Love-Never-Dies-jamie-turndorf-big-seanceFamed relationship therapist, author and media personality Dr. Jamie Turndorf —known worldwide as Dr. Love— shares the amazing true story of her spiritual reconnection with her beloved deceased husband, internationally renowned former Jesuit priest Emile Jean Pin. Discovering for herself that relationships don’t end in death, Jamie recounts her remarkable experience where, through the depths of her grief after Jean’s sudden passing, her husband made known his continued presence–and undying love.

Drawing on these personal encounters, Jamie has created a groundbreaking new form of grief therapy that combines her acclaimed conflict-resolution techniques with after-death communication. The result: an unprecedented method that enables the bereaved to reconnect, resolve unfinished business, and make peace with the deceased. Filled with dozens of examples of spirit contact and communication, this book eliminates any doubt about life after death and shows that contact is ongoing. Loved ones in spirit don’t just linger briefly before going to “heaven” and disappearing from your life. Rather, heaven is a state, not a place, and your loved ones have an eternity to support you and heal any issues left behind when they passed on.

Come to recognize the numerous signs from spirit that you may have been missing. Learn to trust yourself and the process that’s right for you–not a shortened, artificial grief period prescribed by conventional doctors. Practice techniques for heightening your senses, expanding your awareness, and entering an open state, culminating in Jamie’s method for Dialoguing with the Departed.

When connection and love live on, fear is banished and relationships can grow and heal as never before. Begin opening your mind and your heart today!

Comfort From Beyond to Grieving Pet Parents

If you’re like me, our pets really are our children. They teach us life lessons, they bring us joy, and they break our hearts at the same time. Please enjoy this article by Rob Gutro, and learn more about him at the end of the post. An interview with Rob for The Big Séance Podcast is in the works, so stay tuned.

Comfort From Beyond to Grieving Pet Parents
By Rob Gutro

The loss of a pet is like the loss of a child to pet parents. The love we share with our pets never dies, and there’s proof that our pets do communicate with us from the other side, just as people do who pass.

Pet parents like me think about and mourn the loss of their pets often. I think about my late dogs Buzz and Sprite every day, just as people mourn the passing of their human children. Why? Because, we taught them how to go to the bathroom, bathed them, groomed them, took them to (obedience) school and was excited at their graduation, watch them interact with others, take them to the doctor when they’re sick, play with them, teach them, make friends, learn, love etc. They share with us love, anger, fear, and excitement just like human children do. Event Dr. Stanley Coren tested dogs and proved many have the intelligence of a 3-4 year old child. Dogs know when we’re disappointed in them if they tear something up – and we come home, find out and they cringe. They know when we’re sick and stay by our side, like human kids do.  The only difference to me is that our pets don’t do have careers, fall in love, move out and take care of us when we’re old.

We also have to make the decision to put our “pet child” to final rest, something human parents don’t really contend with unless in certain tragic circumstances and that is the hardest part of unconditional love. My dogs are my children. I am responsible for feeding, caring, loving them and keeping them healthy, just as humans are with human children.

Anyone that has had dogs, cats, horses and some birds know they understand words and body language.

They have the intelligence and ability to send signs to the living after they pass. Learn about the different levels of intelligence that a pet develops and how they are used to communicate signs to the living after the pet passes away.

I’m a dog owner, dog rescue volunteer, medium/paranormal investigator for Inspired Ghost Tracking of Md. and scientist. I wrote my new book “Pets and the Afterlife” to bring comfort to people (like me) who lost a pet. I’m a dog dad who lost two of my own beloved dogs and both have communicated with me, just as everyone’s pets are trying to get messages to their parents. The book provides a lot of different ways that pets can send us messages.

As a scientist I’ve always tried to prove messages. So, I’ve included amazing new scientific studies that prove our pets have emotions and personalities. There’s also science behind why living pets can sense entities. Do you ever see your dog or cat staring at an empty corner of the room? It may very well be because your Aunt Betty’s spirit has come to visit, or there may be a ghostly cat that never crossed over from the previous owner. Because pets have the ability to sense Earth-bound ghosts or spirits (who have crossed into the light) dogs are especially good on paranormal investigations, and I took my Weimaraner on one and she helped solve a mysterious canine mystery.

Did you know that when it’s our time to go, that our dog or cat will be waiting for us? It happened to my mom and my dad when they passed. If you’re like me, you have your dog or cats ashes at home and they help keep your pet with you from time to time. One of the boxes of ashes is my late puppy Buzz, who turned out to be the world’s best canine communicator. His story, a story of our late dog Sprite’s butterfly message and stories from many others of how their pets gave messages from beyond are included.

Three of the chapters are written by well-known mediums whose own dogs returned and communicated with them to assure them they were at peace. The book features medium Barb Mallon, Ruthie Larkin the Beantown Medium and Troy Cline. A fellow dog rescue volunteer also provided an amazing story of how a ghost dog rescued her!

I wrote the book to help others find hope, peace and comfort that our pets are still around, and that the love that binds lives forever.

10 important reasons to go see Chip Coffey at a “Coffey Talk” near you!

Me with Chip Coffey

Me with Chip Coffey

This week, thanks to a great friend and fellow investigator, I had the amazing opportunity to see psychic Chip Coffey at his St. Louis Coffey Talk appearance. Check out our photo! Aren’t we cute?! JUST LOOK AT US! Chip was a little under the weather that night, so at this very moment in the photo I was in the process of telling him the following: “Gosh I can’t imagine how great you are when you’re not sick… (awkward pause… signature cheesy smile) …because you totally rocked it!” I totally meant it… but wish I’d found a better way to say it. I hope he didn’t roll his eyes when I walked off! Seriously though, he was an absolute gentleman and shook my hand, asking my name before it was time to go.

Chip doesn’t know me from Adam (don’t think I’ve ever said that), and this post is in no way affiliated with him, but allow me to share with you…

10 Important Reasons to Go See Chip Coffey

  1. He was the host of the amazing and groundbreaking series, Psychic Kids: Children of the Paranormal. Unfortunately, this show is no longer being produced, but I believe you can still catch it on A&E occasionally. There’s also a DVD available, and you can download episodes on iTunes as well.
  2. He was featured in thirty-one episodes of Paranormal State, also on A&E. Other appearances include Larry King Live, Haunted Collector, Good Morning America, Nightline, CBS’s Sunday Morning, Entertainment Tonight, and others.
  3. In 2012 he wrote a book called Growing Up Psychic, and it’s totally going to arrive on my doorstep this weekend.
  4. Chip is passionate about saving and rescuing animals!
  5. Chip does events and personal appearances! Find a scheduled event near you!
  6. Chip and I share a favorite word, apparently. It rhymes with “schmuck” and often has a nickname of “eff”. The use of this beautiful and colorful word, along with other important vocabulary, really aids in being able to fully grasp one’s message and meaning. I loved and appreciated it. The rest of the audience–composed of all ages, types, shapes, and colors–really appreciated it too.
  7. You get to see which fabulous scarf Chip is wearing on that day!
  8. You get a cool badge and lanyard (if you go VIP)! Who doesn’t get excited about that?!
  9. Chip was absolutely hilarious! Sitting among strangers, he had me belly laughing, crying, nearly peeing my pants, and looking at my neighbor with those “Did he really just… NO HE DIDN’T” eyes. You know what I’m talking about.
  10. And finally, Chip really connected with the folks that were there. I really did feel like I was in a room with such great energy and surrounded by spirit. As Chip answered questions and did his gallery reading, there were clearly validations happening left and right. Just as you would suspect, some of these moments were incredibly emotional. I’d planned on asking about the two souls whose graves I adopted this fall and did a bit of research and genealogy on. I was curious to know if they were aware of my visits, and I really wanted to know how they died so young, since I was not able to locate that information. Earlier that day I also prayed and spoke to my guides, letting them know that any of my passed loved ones were welcome to make an appearance. I didn’t get chosen for a reading, but honestly, after hearing many of the powerful stories and seeing the tears of relief on many of the audience members’ faces, I felt silly for having the questions I was going to bring up. Chip worked his gift for a couple of hours, so there were many people who had the opportunity to get a message or validation, and it was great to be present for those moments.

Messages: Signs, Visits, and Premonitions from Loved Ones Lost on 9/11

I’m here to tell you that if you’re checking out this blog, chances are you will absolutely love this book! I’m not even finished with it and I’m totally ready to recommend it. I’m not ashamed to admit that I often fall for book covers, and this one is beautiful, but all I needed was the title this time. And then when I saw the quote by James Van Praagh, I knew for sure that this book would be rushed to my doorstep in two days time.

The author, Bonnie McEneaney, lost her husband in the events on 9/11. Years later, after getting to know other folks who lost loved ones on the same day, she realized that there were so many beautiful examples and stories of loved ones leaving signs, messages, etc. I am so happy that Bonnie put the work and effort into collecting these stories for a book.

Sure, you’ll be touched by the feelings of great loss, but you won’t be dragged through the events of the tragic day. The awesome part is that every single story (and there are so many!) leaves you with the same feel-good confidence that our loved ones are still with us when they leave the physical.

Click HERE for an excerpt of Messages: Signs, Visits, and Premonitions from Loved Ones Lost on 9/11 by Bonnie McEneaney.

Here’s a book description.

Bonnie with her husband, Eamon, who was killed in the World Trade Center on 9/11/01.

Bonnie with her husband, Eamon, who was killed in the World Trade Center on 9/11/01.

When Bonnie McEneaney’s husband, Eamon, died in the attacks on the World Trade Center, she thought she had lost him forever. And then something unexpected happened that would shake her to the core and reassure her that her husband was still with her. As Bonnie reveals in this groundbreaking book, she began to have experiences that convinced her that her husband, in spirit, was sending her signs, indeed messages, that he was still present and watching over his family.

A mother and former business executive, Bonnie was always the rational one, and quite skeptical of the spiritual world and all that it represents, but after talking to a number of other families and friends of loved ones lost on 9/11, she realized she was not alone.

Numerous others connected to the tragedy—from financial executives to stay-at-home moms—described their own experiences: premonitions, signs, dreams, visitations, and communications through mediums and psychics. Bonnie began recording their compelling stories in a groundbreaking four-year-long project, illuminating the power of love and the unbreakable bond love creates.

Now, in Messages, she shares these miraculous spiritual stories while weaving in her own heartfelt message of comfort and hope for all those who are searching for their own deeper connections, proving that love and relationships can continue after death.
