I just finished Conversations Beyond the Light: with Departed Friends & Colleagues by Electronic Means by Dr. Pat Kubis and Mark Macy (1995). Rather than write a review, I decided to post a few videos.
This first video is by Mark Macy, who is one of the authors and a pioneer of ITC (Instrumental Transcommunication) research, and is the founder of World ITC. In this video, Mark discusses the research of George Meek, another very important pioneer in ITC research who crossed over in 1999.
The next video is mainly for the audio, and the description below is from the World ITC website. The book discusses this historical moment of spirit communication.
On January 27, 1994, the telephone rang in George Meek’s office, and once again George Meek made history. It was the late ITC pioneer Konstantin Raudive on the phone, and it was the second spirit phone call ever placed to an American ITC researcher.
G Meek: Good morning, this is George Meek.
K Raudive: This is Konstantin Raudive. George, my friend, at last we succeeded in contacting you. Jeannette is beside me, and she wants to give you all her love. This is Konstantin Raudive. This is the first contact you get from us. I suppose that you can hear me?
G Meek: I can hear you very well. Very plainly.
K Raudive: Fine! So, this is the beginning of a new story, a new chapter, George. You are a very good friend of ours, even if we haven’t met. We will continue this. This is the first bridge we have succeeded to build to the States. Mark was contacted, and I must interrupt now.
Last night I had another dream. It was the first night of being back in my own bed after several days in a cabin on vacation. Since it is summer and I’m sleeping more, I guess I’m going to wake up remembering them more frequently.
Here we go…
First of all, I was younger and single, and I was playing the role of myself in some other reality, I suppose. I was staying at a friend’s house. I don’t believe this friend exists in real life, but I do know the house resembled something you’d see on Hoarders, so apparently OCD wasn’t a concern of mine in this alternate reality. I was also doing my laundry there, but I’m not sure why. Doesn’t matter. Anyway…
So we were all just hanging out in this friend’s (very messy) bedroom, and he was showing us how a spirit very often spoke to him through his clock radio. As if he was Marcello Bacci (a notable ITC researcher most famous for contacting spirit through a radio), he stood next to his device on his night stand, twisting dials. I don’t remember there being much static or other noise, but after a while there was suddenly a clear voice that communicated with us all in the room. The part about the dream that blew my mind was that the voice mentioned me by name and knew of me, saying he was aware of my attempts to communicate with spirit. I couldn’t wait to get a clock radio of my own to try it out at home, especially since the spirit world was apparently aware of me and was trying so hard to contact me from their side.
I don’t remember much else, but I woke up incredibly disappointed when I realized I didn’t have a clock radio like my friend had in the dream. I can remember what it looked like though.
This is pretty close to the clock radio from my dream, except there was a speaker on the right of the face.
This is a pretty close representation of what was in my dream. We had one just like this growing up, only in my dream I clearly remember there being a plastic grill for a speaker on the right side of the face.
Was this me being just as big of a dork in my dream as I am in real life? Or… should I be ordering one of these off of eBay?
As someone who has spent a lot of time working with EVP and hours and hours of audio from investigations in the past, I know how time-consuming it can be. You wouldn’t think a daily 15 minute EVP session would really tie you down for long periods of time. Because I’ve been recording each session with two recorders, and because it takes at least twice as long to review a recording as it took to record it, and because you then have to dig in and really analyze anything you’ve flagged along the way, this project has taken a couple of hours out of each day. This is especially true recently because even though they’ve been very soft, I’ve begun to hear voices. Because they’re not incredibly clear yet, they can more easily be confused with other natural sounds from the environment.
I feel like I’ve learned so much from this experiment… and not just about EVP, surprisingly. I’ve had so much fun and I really feel like I need to extend it and keep going after the two weeks are over. Since the voices are only beginning to come through it seems really silly and almost irresponsible to stop now. One problem… on Monday my spring break is over and life continues. Can I devote the time without going crazy and still stay in the focused, positive frame of mind that I’m finding EVP needs? My last session for this experiment as it is now will be on Monday evening, which is a school day for me… and no doubt it will be a long day. I guess that will be a good time to decide if I can keep going for a while. Would recording once or twice a week be effective? I’ll have to ponder the subject and keep you posted.
Here’s an Update…
Yesterday’s two EVP sessions (I did an extra one just for the heck of it) were uneventful. I did not hear anything impressive enough to document. However, in today’s session (day eight) I have flagged some interesting audio. I would not feel comfortable taking a stab at what this voice is saying, if it is a voice at all. Feel free to submit your opinion.
The audio below comes from the Tascam DR-07, using the Tascam TM-ST1 stereo microphone. Exactly nine minutes into the recording you can hear a possible voice speaking (through the pink noise I was playing in the background) what seems to be several words or a phrase. I apparently heard it through my headsets because I turned up the volume of the pink noise and asked “Is someone here?” The last thing I asked before this possible EVP was “Cathy, or anyone from The Big Circle, are you here with me?” and then “Are you available?” followed by “I’m really enjoying your mom’s book about you” (I plan on posting on the topic of The Big Circle sometime soon. It’s a wonderful group and an amazing story…I’m waiting to finish a book first). Twenty-four seconds later the possible EVP was recorded. Nothing from this moment was picked up in the Sony PX-820.
Possible EVP from 3-20-12
(Best heard with headphones)
You can’t hear much in this file, but I like to always let you hear the unedited file. The Tascam tends to be softer and I have to amplify those recordings a lot.

This file has been cleaned up a lot. I with I could make it more clear.
