In the past, I’ve been lucky enough to join two other paranormal teams, JPRS and JHPS, on two different investigations. In both the Fort Chaffee Prison investigation and the Carthage Opera House investigation, I learned so much from everyone I investigated with. They were really great experiences, and I gained some good friends! In honor of me being so excited about an upcoming January investigation with this same group of amazing investigators, I thought I’d share some fun shots from the previous two investigations. More to come, I’m sure.

I canNOT believe that it is possible for this to be my 200th post… but it IS! I’m not going to give a tear-filled Oscar speech or anything. I just want to thank you, my readers for making me feel like someone is there and interested in my blabbering. 🙂 Now I’ll move on to the actual post.
Dar, founder of Joplin Paranormal Research Society (JPRS) has put together several amazing videos from the two joint investigations that I have been lucky enough to be a part of. The first of these investigations was at Fort Chaffee Prison in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
The video below is her most recent and highlights our spirit box session (Dar calls it a “Ghost Box” and we’ll still like her for that 🙂 ) from the latrine at the prison. Her video is a compilation of video and audio from several of our devices. Our visit to the latrine was actually a spur of the moment session at the end of our investigation that ended up giving us some of the more fascinating moments from the whole night. I wish we would have had the chance to spend more time there.

Dar was actually the first person to really introduce me to the spirit box (or radio sweep) and I’ve learned a lot from her. Since then I’ve researched it a bit, and I now have my own box that has been used on investigations and for experiments quite a bit. Unfortunately, I’ve not had the wealth of success with my spirit box that JPRS tends to get on their investigations. Though I think there is clearly something to this radio sweep stuff, my regular readers know that I am very cautious to claim any radio sweep responses are solid pieces of paranormal evidence. With that being said, it’s a regular and fascinating tool in my paranormal toolbox.

You probably remember me blogging about some of the great experiences I’ve had while investigating with my friends from JHPS and Joplin Paranormal Research Society (JPRS). Dar with JPRS has been nice enough to invite me (representing Missouri Spirit Seekers) along to some cool places. The 5/12/12 Fort Chaffee Prison investigation was my first joint investigation. Analysis and review of this investigation has been a big undertaking. It is still somewhat a work in progress as JPRS is still completing their review. However, I’m excited to finally share my report and most of my evidence with you.

As you know, a few months ago I participated in a joint investigation of the Fort Chaffee Prison in Fort Smith, Arkansas. The investigation was headed up by Dar and the Joplin Paranormal Research Society (JPRS) out of Joplin, Missouri. Also investigating was J.H.P.S out of Fort Smith, and, of course, I represented Missouri Spirit Seekers (MOSS). Not only was it a blast, but I met some new friends and colleagues in the field.
Analysis is ongoing, but Dar has made a really cool video highlighting the investigation. I told her she should move to Hollywood. As you’ll see, much of the prison facility is currently set up as a working haunted house. It made investigating very interesting. Most of the video is from our walk through of the facility. We’re using night vision cameras and flashlights and are completely in the dark, but what you see and hear at the very end is our guide surprising us by turning on the sound and mechanics of the whole production. Such a weird experience. I can’t make fun of Dar for screaming at the end because we have documented evidence of me screaming at a different moment during the walk through. 🙂
Soon I may post a really funny clip from part of the investigation that I captured on my camcorder. But, I’m sure Dar will doctor it up soon, so I won’t ruin the unveiling. 🙂 More to come, I’m sure… For now, enjoy!

This weekend I had a very cool experience with my first joint investigation. I represented Missouri Spirit Seekers (Oh, you figured that out already? How did you know? HA!), and my fellow investigators for the evening were from the Joplin Paranormal Research Society and JHPS. Obviously, there is lots of footage and audio to review, but if you’re curious to know more about Fort Chaffee in Fort Smith Arkansas, you can check out the video below from when Ghost Adventures visited the location. The first part of the episode is an investigation of the medical complex, which has since burned, but they investigated the prison later in the episode.
I got to finally meet my new JPRS friends and see other paranormal investigators at work. Thanks for the invite, guys! Stay tuned for what will hopefully be tons of evidence!
