About Patrick Keller:
Patrick Keller is an educator, speaker, and the host of the Big Séance Podcast, which is a forum for “paranerds” to have an open dialogue about all things paranormal. He has been a featured podcaster on Coast to Coast AM with George Noory and is a member of The Podcast Academy. Some of Patrick’s notable guests have included Chip Coffey, Loyd Auerbach, Amy Bruni, Adam Berry, Rosemary Ellen Guiley, Troy Taylor, Guy Lyon Playfair, Karen A. Dahlman, and one of the world’s most investigated and celebrated mystifiers, Uri Geller.
He founded the Missouri Spirit Seekers, a paranormal research team, and he has spent a lot of time experimenting with spirit communication tools and techniques, such as EVP (Electronic Voice Phenomena). One of Patrick’s passions is cemetery photography, and spending hours at a time capturing the natural beauty of the cycle of life and death in a place typically stricken with grief.
His education includes a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from the Conservatory of Music at the University of Missouri – Kansas City and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.

The Big Séance Podcast 30-Second Promo
I don’t think there is a more dramatic or fun form of spirit communication than a séance. Am I right? Picture any séance you’ve seen from an old movie or TV show. An old Victorian house, dark and ornate décor, candles all over, perhaps a Ouija board, and of course a fabulously costumed medium.
One of my biggest passions is reading, talking about, and researching the world of the paranormal. The online Merriam Webster dictionary defines séance as “a spiritualist meeting to receive spirit communications.” From day one here at BigSeance.com, my goal was to create a blog that covered paranormal and spiritual topics, with an emphasis on spirit communication. I’d highlight some of my team’s paranormal investigations, share some evidence, etc. A lot has changed since then.
After seven years, over 400 published blog posts, and five years of the exciting addition of The Big Séance Podcast, I’ve learned a lot about the paranormal subculture! I’ve also learned a great deal about myself, what I know, and what I don’t know for sure yet. But I’m enjoying the spiritual growth, and as of right now I’d like to think of “The Big Séance” as not just a broad form of spirit communication, but a way to reach out to the other side, a way to learn from others who see or hear what some of us don’t, and a way to honor or learn about anyone’s life or past… a kind of remembrance.
Here all souls are invited to communicate or pass on messages to the living. You’ve joined me in several experiments. You’ve joined in the conversation and even shared your own experiences. Therefore, you’re not only an audience member for my séance, you’re all participating in it! It’s a BIG séance… and it’s getting bigger.

Are you still crafting your art as a paranerdal researcher and blogger?
December 1st, 2014 at 11:06 pm
Absolutely!
April 29th, 2015 at 6:31 pm
Dear Patrick Keller, thanks for a very interesting website.
I like to propose to you to do a serious systematic investigation on the messages and phenomena connected with the Ouija board and also the spirit box.
You collect all messages, and phenomena i.e., perceptible events like humans’ behavioral actions and physical occurrences like planchette flying off the table, you get the idea, and arrange them all so that people can see whatever rhyme or reason be in them messages and phenomena, some patterns, from which we can derive some regularities to them.

Hello! I know this post is 6 years old, but I happened upon your blog while researching St. John’s Cemetery in Lafayette County.
I too am a cemetery photographer, albeit budding at this point.
Your photos of Bellefontaine are spectacular. Bellefontaine was the place that I realized that I enjoyed taking photos of subjects who do stand still.
I’m glad I’m not the only one who enjoys their time in cemeteries. Looking forward to listening to your podcast.
Cheers!
