More than halfway to what, you may ask? Only the greatest and most spooktacularly awesome holiday ever, that’s what! Oh come on! It’s HALLOWEEN! Want to know how I know? I was just declared the winner of the Halfway to Halloween survival pack from the lovely Eva at TheYearOfHalloween.com, the amazing blog devoted to Halloween all year round! It’s a site where you can find lots of spooky short films, costume ideas, tons of activities for Halloween, and more! But this announcement is big, because this is the first blog contest I’ve ever won, and I’ve entered in many. You should check out the announcement to see what I won and why you should feel totally jealous. I’ll just tell you that one of the prizes comes from BoyDrinksWorld.com. Mhmm. Now you want to check it out, don’t you?
So what did I have to do to win? Eva asked readers to comment with our plan for how we would celebrate Halfway to Halloween! My comment is below. If you’re paying attention, you’ll realize that I didn’t exactly follow the instructions clearly, and judging by the time stamp, I can tell you I had probably just woken up to see her post. Oops. I’m fortunate that Eva doesn’t seem to be a stickler for rules.
My groggy misunderstanding of the question aside, I really am super excited about Halloween being on a Friday this year! That hasn’t happened in six years! This should make things a bit more exciting, right? Plan your schtick now!
And thank you Eva and TheYearOfHalloween.com!

Congrats on winning the prize! Like you, I’m a Halloween enthusiast. In fact I’ve already started working on my costume. Happy Half Halloween!

I’m weird with costumes… I always say I’m going to incorporate a costume into my “schtick”, though I can already tell you now that I have read FrugalFright’s comment, my schtick is nothing. 🙂 It’s a hot apple cider stand outside on a table with some candy, some creepy music, and on a good year, a fog machine. 🙂 I’m off topic. Anyway, growing up I eventually stopped dressing up because I was so excited to just be a part, see the trick-or-treaters, watch the shows on TV, experience the feel of Halloween, rather than spend the evening smelling a slobbery latex mask. HA! I just cracked myself up. Am I making any sense? Soooo much more than you ever wanted in a reply to your comment. Ha.

This must be why I had a rather random craving for everything Fall yesterday 😉 Can’t wait – it’s my favorite season!

Ohhhh Brandie, as soon as school is out and it’s officially summer for me, my brain can’t help but start thinking and planning (either because I’m excited or depressed about it) for the “fall semester” at school. And as soon as school starts (sadly, 1st of August), it’s automatically fall to me, even though it’s not. Sometimes I burn out on fall by the time it gets here. That’s sad. 🙂

Congrats. I start hunting for costumes and accessories now. I normally start my prop work by July or early August. But the plan…that comes earlier. Again – glad you were picked – you earned it!

Wow. I thought I WAS A NERD! Just kidding. See my comment above where I referenced your comment. That is hard core! Although I’ve seen your posts and photos, so I get it. You’re one of THOSE people… a Halloween PRO! 🙂
